Amsterdam-Muiden-Vreeland-Schoonhoven-Gouda
This week, we motor over the river Amstel, the Vecht and the Lek. We moore in beautiful old towns with silver jewels and sailboats.
Saturday: Welcome on board!
Embark from 4pm. Welcome on board with coffee, introduction of the crew and programme. During the evening, you can spend your time as you wish, for example visiting the local cosy city center by foot or bike.
Sunday: Amsterdam
In the morning, we leave for Amsterdam. The ship stops in Ouderkerk a/d Amstel, from where you continue the beautiful route by bike if you want. During the afternoon and evening, you are free to visit what you prefer in our capital city.
Monday: Muiden
After breakfast, we navigate to Muiden, a beautiful old fortified city at the border of Lake IJssel. It is full of yachts and traditional sailing ships. Next to the harbour, you can visit the medieval Muiden Castel. Enjoy a beautiful walk to the lake or visit the immemorial bar 'Ome Ko'.
Tuesday: Vreeland
We sail under engine over the beautiful river Vecht through pittoresque villages and beautiful nature. Underway, we stop at an old cheese factory for a cheese tasting with wine. In the afternoon, you can bike through beautiful historic country estates from the Golden Age and the Lakes of Loosdrecht, one of the cradles of Dutch sailing.
Wednesday: Silvercity Schoonhoven
In the morning, we sail over the Amsterdam-Rijn-Canal and the Lek river to silvercity Schoonhoven. In this beautiful fortified town, you can visit plenty of silversmith's workshops, ateliers and shops. There are also different musea and galeries. Or walk to the riversite and enjoy the beautiful view of the river.
Thursday: Cheese city Gouda
After breakfast, you can bike over the dyk along the river Lek, through the pristine green polderlanscape to the beautiful town Haastricht. In the afternoon, we navigate over the Hollandse IJssel to Gouda, city of Gouda cheese and the famour cookie 'stroopwafel'. Visit the beautiful townhall or the Sint Janschurch.
Friday: back to Alphen
On the last morning, we sail under engine, through three historic lifting bridges, back to Alphen. After mooring, the trip has come to an end. You disambark and we wish you a safe travel back home.
